Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Darla has been working in the commercial photography industry since 1989.

With a commercial photography diploma in hand, she cut her teeth as a photo assistant at Kalmbach Publishing and quickly advanced her way into a commercial photographer position. 

Asking herself, “Is there more out there?”, Darla explored Medical Photography photographing eyes.  Yes, you read that correctly. For those curious minds wanting to know more, you will have to ask her.

Returning to commercial photography in 2006 was like a homecoming for Darla.  All the familiarity was there but this time as a Photo Stylist. Truth be told this was where her true passion lay, working in front of the camera. Her years as a photographer had given her a deeper understanding of how to create a stronger image.  This knowledge of photography and lighting along with her creative eye quickly propelled her as a desired stylist in her industry.  Give her some quilting pins and dental wax and watch her do some amazing things!

In 2011, Darla stepped into the freelance world.  That move opened many doors for her and she has not looked back.  She continues to work with amazingly talented and creative people that she holds dear to her heart.  Today you will find her creating incredible shots with her teams for a variety of highly recognized companies.
